THE GOLENA OF CA ’PISANI

The Ca 'Pisani floodplain covers an area of about 43 hectares. It was purchased in 1997 by the Veneto Region, thanks to a LIFE project. The Golena includes an embankment on the left bank of the Po di Maistra, some wetlands bordered by internal embankments, woods (mainly willows) and areas once cultivated and now uncultivated. Currently the Golena is managed by the Regional Forest Service with the collaboration of the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta which takes care of the visit.
